Cape Cod Rabbi: Sacred  Occasions

Jewish   Interfaith  Gay/Lesbian

Rabbi Deborah Pipe Mangan

My Passion

Is to create a sacred space in which the engaged couple can celebrate their love and share their joy with friends and family. Will officiate on the beach, in your backyard or at the place of your choosing.

My Experience

I was ordained by the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion in New York City in 1991. After two years as an assistant rabbi at a large synagogue in  Elkins Park, PA, I followed my rabbinic passion of chaplaincy and became a certified Jewish chaplain in 1995. Most of my chaplaincy training was in interfaith relationships. Although I have extensive experience in hospitals and working with clergy, I have been blessed to work as an interfaith hospice chaplain for the past seven years.

I have lived on the Cape, in Barnstable Village, for the past 15 years. As I do not have congregational responsibilities, it has been my pleasure to work with  couples -Jewish, Interfaith and Gay/Lesbian- on their sacred journey from engagement to marriage.
